Just wondering if any of you still used Friends Reunited or has FB taken over? Is there any point with Friends anymore as everyone seems to be on FB these days.

Have no reason to delete the details or FR, but it was a bit of a bore: no one I recalled got in touch anyway.
Don't have an account of FB. FR had an aim, FB is just a social site everyone seems to think they have to be on, and that just puts me off. Not going to be one of the herd simply to be one of the herd.

I always thought that, if you hadn't bothered to stay in touch, there was probably a reason for that.
I've always stayed in contact with a lot of girls from my school house. A big proportion of the people I do business with are girls from my house, or married to girls from my house.
Having said this, I think FR was an inspired creation, and I'm glad the creator did well out of it (even if it has been superseded by Facebook).

The person I was on about JJ had been put in a home at the age of 6, stopped there until he was about 14 then went on to a mental hospital & all but a few of his records went missing, I took on the challenge because there was three other Service Users in the house and all their family came to visit them, this person had no-one.
I have resurrected this thread because our little group on FR have just received the devastating news that Friends Reunited is to shut down very shortly.
Personally, l have found old school friends through this site and some have found me. We have rekindled friendships, kept in contact by e-mail and, in a few cases, visited one another.
The most important benefit to me personally has been the set-up of a little group of ladies, plus one gentleman, who regularly chat in a friendly way. No arguments and absolutely no politics. We come from different parts of England, Scotland, USA, Canada, South Africa and Australia. The lady who 'introduced' us all is originally from Manchester but is married to a German and has been living in Germany for over 20 years.
The news that Friends Reunited is to close down has come as a bombshell to us all. Many of you may not bother with this site but to us it has been invaluable for many years.
