I've only just noticed (after over a year) that my docking station had a USB cable. Does this mean I can play music that's stored on my laptop, through the docking station?

I've plugged the cable into both ends, but not sure what I'm supposed to do now.

Scrap that, sorted it. The USB cable had nothing to do with it... though the audio cable was quite important, it seems... :-)
Strange that :)

Lol. What is the USB cable for, then?
Without knowing exactly what docking station you are talking about, hard to say. (My idea of a docking station is something you plug a laptop into, but I'm guessing this is an iPod docking station?)

If you post the make and model number I'll have a look.

Yeah, sorry. I should have been more specific. It's a JBL ipod docking station. It's the full size one (not the micro one), if that makes a difference.
JBLRADIALWHTEU is the model number.

Is that it? Pfft.

Thanks :-)

It charges on the dock anyway, so just for syncing then. Rubbish.
Cheers trim :)

I wouldn't say it's rubbish, sounds like a pretty useful feature if you happened to use the dock close to a desktop computer.
Question Author
Well I think it is. It charges whilst it's on the dock anyway, so it's just the syncing thing. AND.... my docking station is in the kitchen, whereas my lappy is usually in the lounge. Not sure what I was expecting it to do really, something magical I think.. :-)

Oh.... and thanks! :-))
