I have a Panasonic TV TX-37ZD70 and also recently bought a Blu Ray cinema system SA-BTT262EBK, I have connected the pair using HDMI but i can only get sound from the external speakers when playing a disc, how can I get sound from the speakers when playine either just TV or Sky? Any help would be appreciated as I have e-mailed Panasonic three times to ask their help desk but they haven't bothered to reply TIA

What sort of 'disc'?
Some systems added are tricky to configure all the time to play through all speakers. It is usually to do with the type of output selected in the sound system settings.
I had an LG system that would not output on all speakers on an AV input until I added an optical cable (or scart would have done) to provide the sound input for that source.

Hi Albags, It would appear that I do need an optical lead to do want to do, the problem being I haven't got an optical output from the TV so i will have to manage with what I have
Probably because that would be covered in the manual regarding connections.
Well you can still use the stereo scart sound to supply the AV box.
