I have an E-Machines laptop which is about 1 year old. Undeneath is two covers that look like they can come off, but dont want to fiddle. Would it be possible that they are for the memory? And can I get new memory for it? If so where?
Chances are yes you can. Laptop memory is much smaller than regular memory, but can be bought at most shops. Try Dabs or maybe Ebuyer? Don't worry about taking a cover off. That's unlikely to cause any problems.
If you go to www.crucial.com they have a tool that scans your laptop and tells you what upgrade is possible.I used it for my old laptop and it was most helpful.
Yes, most laptops allow upgrading their memory. It's usually located underneath or under the keyboard. You need to identify the type of RAM you need before upgrading.
