Why can't I watch BBC videos on Firefox but I can on Chrome?

When trying to watch video highlights in BBC Sport on Firefox(v8.0.1), I'm told that this content is for UK users only.
However, I can watch the exact same videos on Chrome on the same machine and I am in the UK!
Why does my Firefox browser think I reside outside the UK?

What network (ISP) are you using? Not on 3G are you?
This happens when content is routed outside IK or through overseas.
Also .. what flash version have you installed?
(Firefox/Tools/Addons/Plugins .. version in list) (Firefox looks in default Windows installation folder on startup, usually Windows/System32/Macromed/Flash)

.
Have you checked that someone (or a program) hasn't configured Firefox to work with a proxy server?

Look under Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Settings and check that 'No proxy' is selected.

ISP is Virgin. Doubt if that is the problem as Chrome browser is ok using same connection. Flash is Shockwave Flash 11.1.102.55.
I selected 'No Proxy' in the network settings but even after a pc reboot FireFox still believes I'm non UK resident!
Thanks for your suggestions but I may have to start using Chrome more!

I don't recall what the proxy settings were but they still display as 'no proxy' now, after I changed them.
