trying to connect to tv in bedroom for grandson.I have connected with scart from tv to dvd player...do I plug aeriel into dvd or leave in tv? Also do I still need this other black cable connected from tv to dvd help please ....only need it to view dvds no recording I am so thick come to these things. I so wish hubby was at home. Perhaps leave until tomorrow.

To just watch a DVD, you've done the right thing. You should just have to change the AV/Aux setting on the TV remote.
If it is a FULLY wired scart lead, the TV may well switch over to the DVD player automatically (when you power the DVD on)
Ignore the other leads.

where does aerial go into tv or dvd ? will i not need that coaxial cable connected.? thanks for help
The coaxial isn't needed to watch the DVD only. The scart lead links your TV and DVD together.
