Kindle -

Hi Guys - I got oneof these for Christmas - not the keyboard version. Can anyone tell me if it has a back light - so I can read it in bed without waking his nibs up by switchingon a light ?

I am waiting for my wi Fi router to come through andcantfindanything about the above in the instructions.

No backlight, woozer. Amazon website does list clip-on lights for it though.

There is no backlight woozer but I have a Kandle clip-on light for mine from Amazon so I can read without the bedside lamp on. There are a couple of types but there is a Kandle especially for the Kindle.

Funnily I've just purchased a Kindle cover for version 4 and it has a little light included with it

Of course, it's a generic cover but will do the job nonetheless for a lot less than a Kindle cover

Please don't take this as a criticism, but this question about lights for Kindles has come up on AB a number of times in the past, and it just makes me wonder: did none of these people read in bed until they got a Kindle?

I did and do, just wanted the cover for mine but as a lot come with a light, I will get one free with my cover =)

Thank you everyone - and no criticism taken rojash - but I listen to books on my ipod when the oh is asleep as I dont like to disturb him - just thought it would be nice to be able to read properly - I shall invest in a light - thanks for all your help

You can do that on your Kindle too. (Though the controls are a bit awkward)

If you can hang on a bit, Mrs V wants the new Kindle fire as soon as it comes out, and will want to dispose of her Kindle, leather case and backlight.
