Replacing car head unit
Im considering replacing the cars radio/head unit but want to know if i could buy any HU or a particular 1 if im going to connect an android s,art phone using the aux connection on the unit.

You need to know if compatible with existing car wiring or you need an adapter connector.
Many aftermarket head units are incompatible with remote/stalk controls. Does your car have them?

The made for iphone/ipod means that you can connect either of them by the USB cable to it and then select the tracks using the head unit rather than the ipod.
You can connect a android phone to it using the aux input and it will play the music fine but you'll need to control the playback from the phone, not the head unit.
Personally, if I had that head unit I'd use the supplied USB extension cable, plug it into the USB on the back of the unit and route the other end into the glove box, then just plug a USB memory stick into it in the glove box and play music straight from the USB memory stick and not use the phone at all.
