I wonder if anyone has expereinced success with converting word documents for e-readers, and if so would you be prepared to pass on some tips. I've been playing around with Mobipocket and Calibre but find this an awkward combination to use to get a finished product. I'd rather use free downloads but I don't mind buying (within reason!) a product that does the job in one go, with a simple interface.

Can't pretty much all the e-readers show PDF files no problem?

In which case that may be your easiest option...

Thanks Chuck - pdf's are no problem and I agree they seem the logical and simple answer. But 'given wisdom' is that the EPUB etc formats are better for t'job. I think it is to do with how the font scales when enlarged. Plus, if it's what's expected, I'd like to be able to provide it.
You could save the document as HTML and then convert the HTML file to epub easy enough, can't see anything from a quick look that will go straight from word to epub..

Like the pdf issue, it just seems a bit daft to me to have to convert these into another format - html is fne as it stands.

Thanks Chris.
Some times we need to convert word to other ebook formats such as word to pdf, word to epub, word to mobi, etc. In order to do it, all we need to is use a ebook converter. Here we can have a try the famouse Amacsoft epub converter:
http://www.amacsoft.com/epub-converter/ which can do as following:
- Convert HTML/PDF/TEXT/Word/MOBI files into an ePub for reading with eBook Reader.

- Support batch conversion mode, only 1-Click to create ePub eBooks.

- 100% keep original quality, the output epub file doesn't have any quality losing.
