Apparently most people in the world can be link by 'four degress of separation'. Thats 4 links (or 'hops') from person to person.

Has social networking made the world a smaller place or is it a case of us having to define who is actually a 'friend'?

I dont have anyone on my FB friends list who I have never met, I guess its a 'younger generation' thing.
