I'm considering the dedicated surround speakers to match my brilliant Wharfedale 10.1s.
The problem I'm having, and the reason I'm only considering as opposed to just going straight ahead and buying them, is that they need to fit in a very small space on my wall. Once fitted they won't be obscured by anything and the sound will be able to project freely, it's just that they will be above a window, so between a curtain rail and the ceiling.
My question is this: would the sound quality be affected in any way if they were mounted on their sides? And also could they be mounted that way? The model no is wharfedale 10.sr.
Quick and helpful as ever buenchico. Thanks. I've emailed them to ask as the question wasn't highlighted in the faqs. I guess I'll wait to see what they say before I order them.
Forget asking anybody anything. Without knowing room dimensions and more importantly, the reflective and absorbtive accoustic properties of the room all theory is pointless. Get a pair of pals around who can take orders, sit where you normally sit, and listen while they move the speakers in unison. The only criteria for the best sound are stuck to the side of your head
After speaking to someone at AV Bristol, I've realised that perhaps I wasn't clear.
When I say 'mount them on their sides' I meant as in horizontally as opposed to vertically, but still on the rear wall. Would this change the acoustics of them?
And also, would they have suitable fixings on the rear?
