Need to buy my Dad a mobile, nice and simple, big buttons and an "infrequent user" sim card. Going to be on payg; any ideas, please? His last subscription with Vodafone expired [lack of use] and they won't refund.
I have a Virgin payg – whereby you loose the credit if a call is not made to or from the mobile within any 6 month period. I believe that this is one of the longest – but the calls aren’t cheap at 25p + per minute. But if like me you have no friends and do not make or receive any calls it is OK. Just top up with the minimum and ensure use once every 6 months.
Check out whether any of the other networks offer a longer none use period.
For a sim-free phone, check out what is available on ebay (if you don’t want the latest gizmos).
About a year ago I purchased a quite reasonable Nokia (sim-free) including charger etc (refurbished) all in for £15. Given that some people charge £10 to unlock a phone – it seemed a good deal.
go with ummmm.....tesco best value....payg great....i just went sim only monthly £10 per month......500 mins 5000 texts half gig browsing...alternatives to browsing if you want
I don't use my mobile very much so I wanted a suitable "pay as you go" tariff. I bought a Nokia mobile for about £30 and a "light user system" both from Tesco. I telephone to top up when I get below £10. It suits me fine. Enquire from your nearest branch.
Try ASDA pay-as-you-go.
Sim card costs about 50pence (Was when I got mine 2 years ago).
Calls 10p per minute and texts 6p each.
