I have till now used my desktop computer for e-mails but have just bought a laptop as well and want to use e-mail on it also. The problem is I now receive some e-mails on the laptop and some on the desktop.Anyone know how this can happen and why don't all e-mails go to both computers? Thanks all.

If you are using outlook or outlook express the default setting is that they delete messages from the mail server once they have been downloaded for the first time.

Look in 'options' and set them to 'leave copy on server' - that will mean that both your machines can download a copy.
A better idea these days is use IMAP instead of POP3 if the provider supports it.
Agreed chuck, but a bit more fiddly for a non-techie to manage?

Thanks for the prompt answer Sunny-dave .I've been on Outlook Express/Tools/Options but cannot find 'leave copy on server'.Which heading is it under as I've looked at them all?
it's on the account settings, on one of the tabs where you'd enter the server names..... can't recall exactly, been years since I've used OE.
Vague memory maybe tools, account settings or email accounts, advanced then tick the box?
Possibly there be a 'change' to click somewhere inbetween
Sorry, that might not be very helpful...
