Problems with Laptop or Norton's?

I know a lot of techies dislike Norton's AV but my lappy came with free trial and to save any problems I subscribed when it ran out. The other day my laptop had problems with booting up (and one more time since then) and I clicked on run in repair mode as recommended. It fiddled and faddled about and eventually got going (this has never happened before so all was new to me) and then Norton's came up saying not protected three things were switched off. I tried in vain to switch on the AV, firewall and sonar protection but it wouldn't happen. Went to their "fix" site and it recommended to download updated version which I did but it cut off without completeting or so I thought. The icon for Norton Installation files on the desk top. Anyway Norton's still wouldn't let me switch the items on, so I rebooted a couple of times, did an update of Norton's and it eventually switched everything on. I also did full scan, a Housecall scan and Malwarebytes scan with nothing found.

Now the last couple of days, the Norton's interface has been corrupted, the "switches" aren't on there and some of the text is blurred and merges with other text so I'm finding it difficult to work with. I have around a month to run before renewal, I have been very happy with Norton's until now and was going to keep it. Does anyone know what I can do to bring the interface back to normal please? I cannot reinstall as it was all internet done with no disks. I would very much appreciate some feed back so thank you in advance.

Go onto the Norton website and request an IM session with one of their techies..........they sorted my PC whilst I sat and watched.

Thanks craft, did you have to pay for their session?

A couple of years ago Nortron was pretty poor and had a bad reputation.

The last few releases have been good and many many "best of" awards.
No daisya....................I just went on and asked a question, then they put me in a queue (which you can see ticking down) took over my PC remotely and sorted it.

Thanks craft, I will look into that one and see how they go.
