pop ups and internet speed (not drug related)

How do I get rid of annoying pop up adverts for stuff I dont want and can I speed up my internet acess without buying a new pc or broadband?

Getting rid of pop ups is quite difficult, however, there a shareware program available called 'popupkiller'. It takes a wee bit of setting up, as you have to tell it what websites u want it to kill pop ups for, but it does log ones you visit. Go on www.google.co.uk and search for 'popupkiller'

In regard to McPhisto's reply there is freeware program called popup killer which is available from http://software.xfx.net/utilities/popupkiller/ and then click on download (in the lefthand column under resources), there is online help available on the same page, click on Boohoo's Help Page.

Try crazy browser (http://www.crazybrowser.com/), it 's a free complete replacement for IE that blocks popups, and has lots of other cool stuff too (browsing in tabs is the way forward).
