lost i tunes music

Hi I just had a new hard drive on my lap top and now I cant find my music file
I had to re load I tunes and some other apps I had previously - but I cannot find My music ( although I have a file icon on my desktop names "my music" it is empty ) However I still have them on my I pod - is there any way I can sync the two and get my music back ??- I am scared to plug the I pod in to my lap top just in case the app automatically wipes the I pod

happened to me and the only music to come back were the tracks/albums downloaded from itunes.none of my own reappeared and I lost all but these when I synched my ipod...don't know if you can upload from ipod to music library...where are the techies ???

if you plug you ipod in you will lose the files, you cannot download ipod to pc. If you go to iTunes store you can download stuff you have purchased(free). Otherwise it's time to start building your playlists again. Been there myself!!!!

Don't panic yet, I 'believe' there are third party tools for you to be able to get the music from your iPod, wait for Chuck or Rojash to come along as they are the gurus of all things tech :-)
