more and more stand-alone DVD players can play mp3/wma music files, view JPEG/BMP image files and some now can play MPEG4/AVI files.
But they have to be in the right fomat, and changing them to the right format is just as tedious as changing them to DVD.
TEAK36 means using 'Vision Express' to encode the AVI file to DVD format (VOB,IFO,BUP). It is the easier option, but getting hold of 'Nero' without paying a fortune can be a struggle. and if the original AVI file was converted by a cheap program your final results may have out of sinc audio, or pauses.
