I have an Epson D120 printer which works very well indeed. Well pleased with it. Until yesterday, that is...
Now, every time I go to print something, I get a message saying that a service is required, and that "Parts inside your printer are near the end of their service life. See your printer documentation." The only documentation is a pictoriasl instruction manual that makes no mention of anything like it.
I'm guessing that there's a counter in there somewhere that has reached some arbitrary figure that kicks this message into action, but don't know.
Two questions
1 am I right?
2 if I am, how do I reset it?

Seems I need to change the ink pads and they say that you shouldn't try and do it yourself, but to contact them to get it done professionally.
Can't believe that I could get it done for less than the cost of a new one.

Agree with you there , probably not what a lot of save the planet people want to hear but now when a printer starts to go wrong or needs a service I just chuck it out , it really is not worth the hassle and expenditure as once something goes wrong it seems that others follow quickly, I just keep my eyes open for a good deal and keep one in reserve.

Sir Prize. Brilliant. Thanks a lot. Will definitely give that a go. I've also found a site that will supply the parts to replace the pads for about a tenner. May even do both. It does look as though the pads start to fill up every time you have to clean the nozzles and that eventually they overflow.
