I have set up a worksheet in Excel 2003 in which I have locked the cells which hold a formula. I tried to copy the worksheet into another worksheet but it does not copy the fact that certain cells are locked or the formulae contained in the cells, it just copies the outlay. Is there any way to copy the whole worksheet as is?

I have never come across that? Have you tired just copying under another name i.e its called ABC you save it as ABC2. or you can just unlock, copy and re-lock.

Dave, I could do that but it takes a while, I'd have to do out and recheck each formula and locking the cells takes a while too. I want this done about 6 times ie Sheet 1 - Sheet 6 in a workbook so would be much easier if I could just copy my original with formulas locked in and just be able to amend certain cells as I need.
Just save it under a different name. you wil then have two copys

Dave I want to have it so that I can click between sheets at the bottom, where it says Sheet 1,2,3 etc. Having to open a different file each time would end up too confusing I would think.
Sorry didn't understand - Have you tried opening a new sheet, back to original, go to the top left hand corner. Above the 1, left of the A, right click copy, into new shet top left right click paste?
Surely locking cells has no effect until the sheet is protected, so just remove the protection on the sheet, copy the cells you want and then protect the sheet again, will take all of 20sec to unprotect and re-protect the sheet.
Question Author
Yeah Dave but when I do that, it does not copy any of the formulas or the locked cells.

I'll try that chuck.
Question Author
Yeah that worked, cheers again chuck.
