"The product details state one speaker."
I can't find anywhere in the product details where it states the number of drivers. It does seem to indicate that there is only one woofer, but as bass frequencies are largely non-directional, they are not particularly important to the stereo image. I don't know the whys and were-fores, but believe me...they are excellent.
What makes you think they have only one speaker?

The product details state one speaker. The Harman Kardon has two though.
If you are looking at other models i hear the B&W Zeppelin is a very good Ipod/Mp3 docking station but not cheap.
The B&W Zep mini is brilliant - and works well as a laptop speaker too :)
Was just going to suggest that Sooper, my mum and my brother have the Zeppelin, they are brilliant, and no not cheap. There version was about £350 a couple of years ago, but they have incorporated Apple Air into the updated one so the price is £500 now. Still a great sound if you can afford it.

I prefer the Bose because it is portable and much lighter.

Here's a link to a youtube video which clearly shows that the Sound dock has two (teeny tiny) woofers.

Thread hijack alert.....Bose ads never give a price of their product.

Why is this?

Is it meant to pique interest resulting in an enquiry?

If it is, then I find it a strange marketing practice, because I can't be the only one that would never phone to find out a price!
And here's a picture that fairly clearly shows they have more than one speaker...

Thanks Rojash. To be correct it wasn't on the Bose site that said one speaker, it was on several webites like PC World/Currys etc in their product details. I can't believe it's not giving out stereo sound which is the only reason I asked the question.
Flip Flop, if there's no price on it, it means I can't afford it.
I think PCworld are referring to it being one physical box, not the amount of speakers that box may contain.

Thanks everyone, I think that's the info I needed. I'm going for the Bose Portable dock which seems to provide what I need and I've tried it out in the shop and the sound is fine for my requirements.
