Someone has been hacking into my Hotmail e-mail account
9 Answers
I cannot see why anybody should bother, but someone has hacked into my e-mail account and has sent blank e-mails in quantities of 10 or more to several of my regular contacts. There is nothing confidential in my sent or received e-mails.
I have changed my password and hope that this will stop the stupid practice.

It is just as well there was nothing confidential in your e-mails. i must admit, when I am sent chain e-mails before sending them on I delete the previous contacts so that when forwarding on it is only listed as that person it is intended for. Otherwise it is an easy way of selling on e-mails to anyone who will buy them for all kinds of use. (market research etc.,) or tyo hack into your computer accounts etc.,
This happened to me once.
Silly messages were sent over the country like I was supposed to be inviting people to my house for a week, inviting them to dinner or visiting them.
Even after I changed my password these messages were getting replied to by confused people.
Unfortunately the messages were deleted from my outbox so I had to reply to each message as they were received by me.
Hours of my time was wasted.
I would have thought the hacker would have had better things to do.

One of my email addresses seems to have been hacked last night, got a load of failure messages etc... this morning! When I tried to log in to change my password it came up with an alert about the account being suspended for suspicious activity but when I go to change password it says the account has been cancelled although I had some emails through part way through today - thought it had let me back in but still saying cancelled account when I try to log in so all a bit odd!
