I'm on AOL and their news feed is rubbish. What is the best homepage for news and can I use a different one instead of AOL? Thanks.

BBC News?
It is dependant on your political leanings, as already pointed out BBC is good.

But the most popular and award winning site is the Daily Mail's.

the Mail's one is good if you want pictures of near-naked women down the right-hand side. The BBC's is good if you don't.
BTYahoo home Page is pretty good, which is the one I use....
Bear in mind that you don't always get the full articles... I tend to go to the BBC news one and back it up with a bit of extra googling if a story needs a bit more background
Sky news is quite good.
Take no notice of jno's comment that happens to be the 'Femail Today' column on the Mail's homepage, if that offends you in the same way that it obviously offends jno, click on the Mail's news page.
