help!

can i just ask....i have just done a pregnancy test (due to a wee accident with contraception) and can't find any instructions/box in my medicine box. it has one line on it at one end with a 'c'c on it. the other end is blank with a 't' on it. can anyone help to reassure me i'm not up the duff...as there is only one line and tell me what the letters may mean. mtia.....silly me.

What make of test is it?

Could it be:

C = Control - If the test is working properly, that line will be there.
T = Test - If there's a line there, it's positive.

I don't know much about tests though!

i have no idea. it was in the bottom of the box i store my meds in and i peed on it before i realised there was no box/instructions. i can't wait/torture myself a little until tomorrow and get another! what does the c and t mean? thanks x

Doesn't sound like you're pregnant. From my understanding of the below link there would be a line on the T bit if you were.

thanks jenna...from what you say it is negative (thank god!) although i may try another tomorrow anyway just to settle my mind completely. i feel a bit happier now. i can't believe for the first time in 18 years that contraception has f*cked up. i need to make more lists in my diary. thank you again.

Maybe best to anyway if you're not sure how long the test has been lurking there for. Was it definitely still in a proper condition for a reliable test and has it been long enough since the unprotected sex to be able to rely on a test?

do another test tomoz to be sure. if that preg test kit has been sitting in a cupboard for a long time its may not be reliable. hope you get the answer you want x

it was sealed in a package and is in date by 6 months. everything was intact and the one line is very clear with a white background - no ambiguity.

In my experience it's always two lines = positive.

yes ummm....i crapped myself when i realised i hadn't put the date for a depot in my diary. i'm 3 1/2 weeks late and we'd been extra 'friendly' (!) over the last couple of weeks. i'm glad i had a spare test, but i'm going to get another tomorrow anyway and possibly a second for a few weeks time. i'm relieved but suspicious at the same time. x

Blimey lcg...if your so terrified of getting "caught" you should use the glass of water contraception method....drink it not after sex nor before....but INSTEAD of......

OK I know it's an old one but works perfectly....not 100% mind....there's still immaculate conception to worry over ;-)

ummm....no as i have the depot, no periods (which complicates the matter! i went to the gum clinic first thing this morning, discussed all with the doc and did another test. as it was negative, looking at the dates she was confident i'm not pregnant and had another jab. condoms for 1 week and then covered as usual. to say i am relieved is an understatement. i have, needless to say, put the dates in my diary already for the next one. i've no idea how i got into such a pickle, but it has been enough of a shock to make me very, very careful. thank you for all your support. i really appreciate it. x

btw....i am married (for 20 years!!!!) and have an 18 yr old son. the cause for my panic is not wanting another child at this stage of my life. just the very thought of it....x
