Motorola gleam+ predictive text problem.
12 Answers
Just bought this new phone for my wife who hates predictive text messaging. I am able to turn predictive text on and off ok but can not get it turned off permanently. Manual is a bit sparse. Can anyone help before I give to her for her birthday tomorrow. Thanks.

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.Settings - phone settings - preferred input method and click on Abc which is above numeric. I think that's how I managed mine and I also have profile 1 in text messaging if that helps. Go into messaging, scroll to message settings, text message, profile settings, profile 1. I hope that helps but that's how I have predictive text off of mine which I cannot stand on this phone, unlike my previous Motorola which was brilliant for that as it always "guessed" the correct text from memory (come back phone, all is forgiven lol).
Oh dear. This is on mine so not sure if yours is different model or mine older though only had it a month or so. Here's how I am doing it. settings - (1) phone settings - scroll down to (4) preferred input method - scroll down to Abc and click the dot. Hope that helps but if not...then I don't know sorry.
I don't know about save permanently but doing it the way I do the predictive text doesn't come up unless I accidently press certain button when texting (can't recall which one). So I rarely get predictive text up unless I do something to make it appear...think it's when I change from lower case to caps...though not 100% sure.
Thanks needawin, have looked at that and like you not sure you can switch it off permanently. Mind you, I'm not happy with the phone anyway especially as it doesn't let you see who is calling before you flip the top nor does it give a warning bleep for texts or missed calls waiting to be looked at...sigh.
