the wifi on my ipod touch isnt working

I have an old ipod touch either 1st or 2nd gen. the wifi on worked great for ages bit it doesnt work any more. in settings wifi is switched to on but no networks comes up. ask to join networks is also on. choose other is there but not sure what to put in when they ask. for network name.....security....etc
also even the little wifi sign at the top of the screen next to the battery icon is not there. we have reset it a few time to see if it helps.

Are you definitely in an area that has wifi.

yes im sat next to the box and my galaxy s 2 and laptops are working fine. i have just put the details in the "join another network" bit and it comes up with cannot find it! Its as if the wifi has just given up, is that possible?

I never had this problem and I used ipod touch all the time. Only cant do it if there is no wifi available. Hope someone can help you.

Maybe try settings - general - reset - reset network connections
