strange e-mails

I have been receiving strange e-mails from people I don't know at Yahoo with attachments, the msg says "I cannot forget you".  They go into my trash folder. Could they be viruses?

YES DO NOT OPEN THEM.

 

You should ensure your anti virus is configured correctly too.

This message contains the netsky.p virus usually!!

 

Never open any mail or attachments you are not expecting....That important the sender will resend it!

You should install a spam filter such as MailWasher.  This will block spam before it gets to your PC.  You can download a free trial here:

To stay virus free, never open an email attachment from an unknown address. 
Some really nasty viruses can get to you as attachments from an email address you recognise.  These have got into someones address book and sent themselves to everyone in the address book without the owner knowing.
As a general rule, if you're not expecting an attachment, don't open it.
I trust you have a good anti-virus application running and up to date!
