My brand new computer has recently turned itself off and now won't come back on, I should mention it happened as I tilted it slightly to remove something that was underneath it. Have I perhaps caused movement inside the computer that may have caused connections to fail?

Fixed:just had to unplug the cable for a few seconds
I assume you have checked the main power cable where it plugs into the PC ?
In theory it would take a bit more than a slight tilt to loosen or dislodge internal connections.
sorted then...
Do not get rid of the box your computer came in,
