Blu Ray Format

I am at the moment about to buy Blu Ray discs from Amazon & the particular one that I am interested in is advertized as Blu Ray Region B, as I have always thought that Blu Ray could be played on a Blu Ray player in any region I am puzzled as to whether the disc can be played on my machine LG BD 650

There are three Blu-ray regions, A, B, and C.
Region B includes most European countries, African and Southwest Asian countries plus Australia and New Zealand.
