Speakers not working...
Hi .. I posted a question on here last night about lack of sound on my new (second hand ) computer. Cutting a long story short I was given some very good advice about needing to reinstall an Audio Driver which could be downloaded for free online.. Great I thought, easy enough..I then sat at my computer to do just that only to find a mine-field of options and choices... I am using WindowsXP... Can anyone tell me which is the best one to use ?

once you can see the device manager you should see an unknown device with a yellow exclamation mark next to it, double click on that and click on the details tab, select hardware ID from the dropdown menu and you should be a string of characters that starts something like pci\ven
Post that entire string and someone will look to see which driver you probably need.
