Problems with Hotmail

I am having problems with my hotmail account. I can get into it but then it tells me there is an 'error on page' and I can't open my messages. Have I been hacked? I ask this because I have had a request which seems to come from Hotmail for an alternative email address and phone number in case I forget my password. If I hadn't given this I wouldn't have been able to sign in. Ever since this I have had the 'error' message. Can anyone help? Has anyone had a similar problem? I am pretty basic in my knowledge so keeping it simple would be good. Thanks, GF

I would change your hotmail password and that may sort it.

Thanks everyone. I have tried changing my password and clearing history and cookies Ratter15 and it made no difference. I wish I had ignored it Sibton but I couldn't see how. Too late now.

I have had th same and brought up on another thread. I too just clicked save every time it came up.

I was advices by chuck that it wasn't,t a scam, but why, if it wasn't did it need one's telephone number?
