For a start, the actual predicted amount of infected computers is about 0.02% of internet users.
The servers that the malware was re-pointing peoples computers were not malicious as in they would do any damage to users computers, they were just getting advert revenue for the people that created the malware.
The servers people were being re-directed to no longer exist.
The basic answer is, nothing to worry about. the long answer is an incredibly small percentage of people may find they have trouble browsing, but it's a really simple fix.
Personally I'd be more worried about having my browsing redirected through servers setup by the american government than I would have been by my browsing being directed to sites designed to generate ad revenue in the first place.
