Is it a VGA connection that you need to use a tv as a computer screen?

Yes. (VGA does video only though, you'd need a separate lead for the audio)

Thanks chuck - looks like it has a pc audio in socket too so that should be good to go :)

If it's got a VGA then it would always have an audio connection to go with it, I was just pointing out you'll need two separate leads, one for the video, and another for the audio out on the computer to the PC audio in on the TV.

Make sure you actually look for it - rather than rely on the verbage,
I got myself a nice 24" Samsung that said it had an svga, got it home only to realise that it didn't have one (cos they didnt have a display model)
The guy at the shop said it was the fastest return he had ever had (less than 1 hour)

okay :) - it's been a long day! - No 2 son's birthday coming up and thought we'd get him a screen for his room and to watch dvd's - he has a pretty small room and the only space is on his teeny computer desk - so if the tv can be dual purpose then that'll sort that out - I do realise he can watch dvds on his computer screen btw but he only has a little screen so if we get a bigger one that is also a tv it gives him more options - not that he has watched any tv (other than the olympics!!) for years!!
