printer problems

can someone tell me why if i print pics from facebook they are lovely and sharp but out of cink, yet if i save them to pc then print the print is very poor. I have a canon pixar mp495, does anyone else find this printer is a poor quality photo printer. I have tried different paper and different inks ie compatible and canon and the results are the same. what do you recommend as a good printer for photo printing. thanks in advance fro any help given xx

What do you mean by out of (I'm assuming)* sync? Does the image look alright on print preview before you print it?
