I have tried one thing....... I have Nero Express(burning tool) and dragged photos I wanted to be copied. I then click save to E drive (having already put a CD-R into E Drive) but it prompts me to 'Please insert a disk to drive E'. I have also tried to save them to D drive with same outcome. Please help!!

i had the same problem until i put in a cd+ or dvd+ disc even though my writer was + and - compatable it would not see a minus disc .

Have you got a USB to camera cable with its software?  This usually allows you to download images from the camera to hard disc.  You can then use Nero or any burning software to transfer your saved files to CD.

Tim. as I said, I have Nero. They are downloaded to hard drive but when I go to save them to E Drive, as a backup, it asks me to insert a disc, when I have already inserted one! Yellowjohn, I will try your suggestion of getting a CD+ (whatever that may be) I'm sure the computer shop will know).

a - ( or minus)  disc is just another format  standard used or supported by different companies. instead of saying dvd+r or cd+r on the box or packaging it will say cd- or dvd - hope this clears it up for you.
