Does your bios do autodetect of the heads/cylinders or is the setup still configured to the old hdd.
Try pressing 'delete' on boot up, it may take you into the bios settings. Have a look for 'hard drive configuration' and set it to 'autodetect' DO NOT CHANGE ANYTHING ELSE THAT YOU COME ACROSS IN THE BIOS SETTINGS.
Good luck
As Tim says, press DEL while your PC boots and go into the BIOS.
The first (or 2nd?) top option should give you info on your hard drives. One option, as mentioned, is autodetect which should tell you how big the hard drive is.
When I was making my earlier mistake with my own PC (jumper settings) - the hard drive appeared as full size in here but only smaller in Windows. Check this on your own PC to see if you get the same results.
If you do, look at the manufacturer's (hard drive) website for the correct jumper settings and amend this.
If this isn't the problem and you do need to flash the BIOS then good luck!
