Good Morning ladies n gents,
Does ANYONE know how to open a 'WinRAR archive' file downloaded from utorrent? It says mp3 and is a new album. There is a small icon next to it that looks like 4 books stacked up. The text file attached says I can obtain password from http://Inkgt.com/8Fo. I have no idea what this means or how to go about it. I just want to open tracks and burn to cd. I have had no probs previously and have not come across this b4. Please help.

Normally to extract a RAR file you right clikc on it and select "Extract".

But it sounds like the RAR files is password protected, so you will need the password before you can extract it.

However the web site you need to visit may install a virus on your PC so proceed carefully.

Thanks for that VHG I,ve tried find password without ne joy, can extract files ok but no good without password unless there is a way to override it somehow,

If you have bought the album for download but can't open it, the file may have become corrupted. You'll need to contact the download site for further assistance...

You can download Winrar for free - it's just like Winzip - a compression app.

However, if the thing you downloaded is asking for a password to 'unrar' it, it's a scam - get your download elsewhere.

winrar isn't free and will start prompting you for payment (although it will work for ever if you close the prompts every time)

7zip is properly free

But I agree with MarkRae... if you've downloaded it from a legal site then the download must be corrupt. (if you've downloaded it illegally then I won't help you and enjoy your viruses)
