always seems to be a long way behind live. Any idea how far adrift it is? Any settings I can use to make it closer? I have googled but I can't see the wood for the trees. Thanks.

Yes, it will be behind... it takes time for them to encode it and transmit it over the internet.... and no there is nothing you can do to change it.

It seems from a quick look on the sky forums it's typically about 1 - 1.5 minutes behind.
