pound sign

I can't find a pound sign on my keyboard. I can only type a # (3 with caps).  I've tried all the keys. Can anyone help?

goto start -> settings -> control panel.

in regional settings and language options:

make sure everything where you can choose a country says english (UK). (assuming you're from the UK).

If your keyboard is set to another language and you want it to stay that way you could try 'character map'. This is a facility within windows that allows you to access other characters.

Click on Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Character Map.

You can copy characters straight from the character map and paste them into other documents.
