I am a member of the VTTS [Vulcan to the sky] and regularly contribute to help keep it flying. I find it very strange that we have a BBMF that is part of the RAF and yet the Vulcan relies on public donations, I believe the Vulcan should be part of the BBMF. Although, with the exception of the Falklands, the V bomber force [ The Vulcan, Victor and Valiant] never dropped a bomb in anger, they were part of the deterrent which kept Britain safe during the cold war. I also find it strange that we have just one Vulcan still flying, yet the American B52, which had it's maiden flight the same year as the Vulcan, 1952, is still very much part of the American Air Force who intend keeping the them flying until 2040.
