My Sky Remote

Today i was flicking through the channels, when i got to Big Brother. I tried to press RED but it wouldn't work. Anyway, when i went to change the channel again it wouldn't. The remote control still has the red ligth in it, which means it mustbe working, but the sky box is not receiving its signal for some reason. When i got up to turn it over by the sky box, it actually works. So the sky box works on its own, and the remote control is still working. But are they not working together? Why is no signal picking up?This hasn't happened before, please help?

Have you checked the batteries? Low batteries can affect the signal strength. Try changing them and see if it makes a difference.

Was it on E4. I had this problem a year or two ago. its as if the remote system freezes. Couldn't cure it so just avoided the red button. Sorry its no technical help but at least know your not alone.

u sure u havent just pressed tv ! press sky and see if it all starts working again !

i wouldnt have thought it would be batteries as u get several warnings as they drain coupled with a symbol in the sky banner.

It means that you have lost interactive which is due to a no return path issue with the server. These are mainly due to outdated firmware with the set top box. Contact Sky for a disc to update the firmware in the box and this should sort it. It could also be an issue with the box itself but be careful as they will try to make you pay for the service call. If they do threaten to cancel all servicesand tell them they are not providing you with the level of service as quoted in the terms and conditions. That should do the trick.

Turn it off at the mains turn it on after about 30 secs.

Normaly does it for me.

If it doesn't work ring Sky they will sort it out with a remote download.

Hey just another thing it may be!! When its an break in the live coverage for adverts your red button dosent work during the break so you have to wait for the programme to come back on then your red button will come back and be working again.

Dunno if thats any help but i wondered what was happenin with mine then realised it was that.
