ebay help AGAIN!
31 Answers
hiya, sorry but i need ebay help again!
I have a listing that i started at £50 with a BIN price of £95. I think it will be popular because even £95 is a good price and i have 24 watchers. Someone has bid £50 AND then sent me a message asking if he can buy it now for £95.
What to do?? Also, why would he have bid, if he wants to BIN? Are you allowed to sell it now once someone has bid, even if it's the same person??

If you have 24 watches already, it make go for far more.
I would tell him No, he can't BIN, it's too late. Sorry.
(Although there is a way to do it, if it ever happens again, but I won't go into detail and confuse everyone for now).

You can if you want end the listing and sell it to him. Just make sure he paypals the cash first then end the listing and send it to him. The advantage of this is that you save the £9.50 ebay final value fee. Not illegal it happens all the time , ebay don't like it obviously. You still get the full paypal protection even if the sale is outside ebay. I sold a brand new Tea Urn like that a few weeks ago got £85 for it and no ebay fees to pay.
Just to add that as an ebayer with a 1020 feedback rating I have NEVER sold an item that had a BIN for more than the BIN price by bidding. I find the best way is often a BIN or Best Offer , price the BIN at around 25% more than max you expect , surprising how often it goes for the BIN. Just got £185 for a camera lens that way. Not bad as I only paid £40 for the camera and 3 lenses in a charity shop. ( then I sold the rest for another £80)
It happens to me all the time..when you get a bid you nearly always get someone offering a higher amount to end the auction and sell it to them. They are just hoping to get it cheaper as they know it will go higher.Don't do it,it's not fair on your bidders-and he had his chance and missed it.Bet you it will go higher. You are allowed to do it but I don't think ebay consider it proper!!
thanks for all your help. Just to let you know it went for £175 to the same man who asked to BIN for £95! What a silly sausage, if he'd have just done it right in the first place he would have got a bargain. As it is, i can't understand why he paid so much - they are only £20 more expensive than that brand new in the shops (and i'm charging £10 delivery, so he's only saved a tenner on the brand new price)
