Eurotunnel bans flash photography in its car transporter carriages. I have been told that this is because the fire sensors can mistake the flashes for a fire. If they do so the carriage filled with foam and xenon gas with obvious deadly consequences for the occupants.

Sound wrong to me. Does anyone know if Eurotunnel would really sacrifice the passengers in a carraige on fire!

This is from the Eurotunnel site:

"Smoking and flash photography are strictly forbidden on board as these can interfere with our fire detection system. If activated, the emergency procedure could lead to evacuation of the shuttle."

It doesn't sound as though they would kill the passengers!
