Why do I keep having to log in every time I visit a site, its only just started to do this, its so frustrating, especially with face book and often happens with Answerbank. Can anyone please explain what to do in simple terms to keep the email adress and password retained - I always tick the box "keep me logged in" but its ignoring that. Is it something to do with Cookies?

Could be, is your browser set to delete all cookies when closing? Look through your 'options'

Is it Google Chrome, Ann?
Question Author
No I'm on Internet explorer, I've tried Google Chrome and Firefox in the past but still preferred IE. Do you think its because its IE?
mine's been like that for some months, same with e-mail acount, security
Question Author
I read somewhere you have to opt to retain cookies on each site you visit - it comes up at the top of the page, but I am never asked ........
Have the same problem Ann. Wastes so much time.
Check under 'Internet Options/Security' check Security level, mines set to Medium High. Also check 'Internet Options/Content/Auto Complete' put ticks in Forms, User names and passwords on forms, Ask me before saving passwords.
^^
shutdown IE and re-start

Thanks SA - I've just tried that, and found that some boxes were not ticked. Let's hope that has done the trick! Thanks everyone for your helpful suggestions.
We will see ☺
Must admit I only use FF myself

I have just cleared down and re-booted.
I'm on Windows XP and IE8
Why oh why do people keep using Internet Explorer.? It causes no end of problems; especially on AB. Furthermore , XP cannot be up-dated to IE 9.

You are not the first today with IE Probs.

Ron.
Because it's their choice ☺
You shouldn't need to change browsers due to a badly written website.
sb... The OP often has problems on AB. I am surprised if you are suggesting that AB is a badly written website.:-)

Ron.
I see posts from plenty of people who have trouble with the site, especially the adverts. Make of that what you will.
Question Author
I'm the OP and I hardly ever have problems with this AB site - I think you are referring to another post from someone else?
