I've just got a second hand BT Broadband hub 2.0 to replace an existing older hub, but when I plug it into the line filter the broadband light alternates between red and orange and it won't go blue.
Is there something else I need to do?
I haven't got any instructions with it and I'm also a bit of a technofobe.
Thanks for any info.

Can you find a 'Reset' button somewhere on the Hub, maybe at the back of it?? Try pressing that !
I'm not with BT anymore

I've pressed the restart button and also the reset button that restores the hub to factory settings but still no joy.
Give BT a phone call if I were you.
Have you entered your BT username and password into the admin pages of the hub?
have you got the latest version of BTdesktop help? that will walk you through any problems, solve those that can be solved and then if there is still a problem you will be advised to pick up your phone.

Chuck, how do I do that?
You didn't say if you have BT broadband or are with another provider.

If you have BT broadband then the hub should be preset for BT if it was previously used with BT broadband. If not, then you will need to enter your account details and password.

Next, try a different filter, cable, phone socket etc. Change 1 thing at a time eg. try a different socket first - remember to filter all sockets that are in use.

eg. Its going to be a process of elimination (assuming that the hub is not faulty to start with!) - remove anthing connected to other sockets, including filters.

Try the hub. If no luck...

Try a different filter in the same socket.....

Try a different cable with the orginal filter, then the other filter

Repeat with a different socket etc.
