Anti Virus on iPad?

I was always under the impression that i didn't need to use Anti Virus software on an iPad. Is this correct or do i actually need something?

I personally believe that antivirus is required on your computer, laptop or ipad because it is very helpful to prevent viruses like adware, Malware, Trojan and many more.
