tivo or v plus

I have recently been talked into a tivo from virgin to replace my v plus box. Just for anyone else there who may think of changing, dont. Its the most long winded thing to use and you cant even remind a programme is on without having to record it. Anyone else think the same. The only bonus is the longer record times but after speaking about this to an engineer the record with hd recordings comes down to 80 hours from 240 hours.

I have two of the HD V plus boxes and thought about changing to Tivo, until I used my cousin's. Oh my God! What a nightmare! I hated it so I am sticking with my V plus boxes ta!

Can you change back or will they not let you?

when you take a tivo out they give you a new 12 month contract. You cant remind a programme without recording it. I phoned about this and the woman said they had lots of people moaning about the tivo. It really is complicated. My 12 year old daughter who was told she has a natural flair for these types of things went up the wall when i changed it. She has worked it out really quick but she absolutely loathes it.

That's one of the things that annoyed me. Trying to set reminders was impossible! I hope you manage to get used to it soon! :(

I love my Tivo!
I can set recordings when I'm abroad. It has an extra tuner! It is fab!

I agree that the menus are poor, but the "Wishlist" function is great - managed to see a few obscurities that I would never have known were on otherwise.
