Series Record

I have a Sky+H/D box which I am using to receive Sky Freesat. Naturally Sky have switched off the series record facility. I also have a Panasonic H/D Recorder DMR-EX77eb on which I select a week's recordings manually.
My question is this, Is there any software that I can add to enable series recording other than havng to buy a new recording machine ?

Doubt it. But are you sure the series link is turned off? Sometimes you can turn it on in your planner as opposed to turning it on when setting it up from guide.

Thanks flobadob, but in answer to your suggestion, because I am no longer paying them Sky have turned off the hard drive facility all together ( recording & playback) which is why as I explained I have to programme my weekly recordings manually through the dvd recorder which does not have a series repeat facility.
