Printer spooler not working.

When I connect the printer to the pc it will not print and says there is a problem with the printer spooler. However it prints out oday when I connect the printer to the laptop. Can this be resolved?

Re-start your pc and switch off/on your printer and try again. If still a problem re-install your printer driers on the pc.

If still stuck, let us know what O/S your using and the printer details for a better answer.

I've done the on off thing. This has been happening for a while but only now trying to fix it. I'm using XP and the printer is a dell 924. The scanner is working okay it just wouldn't print.

If both devices (pc and laptop) are connected to a router you can "share" the printer between the two of them without having to keep un plugging it.

Plug the printer into the PC and set it up so it works.

Then go into the Windows help and search for "printer" or similar and it should tell you how to setup up the printer on the laptop while it is still plugged into the PC.

You may need to "share" the printer on the PC, and install the drivers on the laptop, but once set up you should be able to printer from the laptop to the printer while it is plugged into the PC.

VHG, it prints okay from the laptop but not from the PC. They are both connected to a router but I wouldn't know how to do that. I am going to uninstall the printer and see what happens.

Re-install using the drivers from their support site rather than the CD you got with the printer.

Hey guys I got it sorted. Turns out that AVG put some lexbce file into the virus vault and that is why it would not work. so I restored it from the vault and had to start a couple of things and it worked. Dead chuffed with myself. Thanks for responses.
