DAB RADIO

I have a DAB radio but the aerial that came with it is a thin wire about 20" long, there is a socket on the back of the box that says aux in my question is is the aux in for another ariel or can I improve the reception for radio by doing something else.

'Aux' will be for plugging in something like an MP3 player.

Simply baring the end of the aerial lead and connecting another piece of cable to it might help.
