Enhancing A Digital Tv Signall

I receive my television pictures via an external aerial and a Saorview television. (Northern Ireland). The picture quality is variable, presumably depending on weather conditions. Pictures on the "Saorview" channels break up quite regularly whilst those on the"BBC" type platform are much more reliable. Is there a way to enhance the signal, particularly the Saorview service. Would a Saorview box help or would this duplicating of the Saorview reception be of no consequence? Thanks.

A simple signal booster will probably help. They're around a tenner in most big supermarkets but Maplin sells products with better 'gain' figures for not much more. Unless you need to feed a signal to several TVs avoid buying '2 way', '3 way' or '4 way' boosters as they share the boosting effect between the outputs; using a booster with a single output maximises the signal gain.

Here's what I use (and I've fitted for several other people):

If that doesn't work (which, given that you've got some sort of reception already, would seem to be unlikely), you'll have to upgrade your aerial to something like this:

PS: It's worth remembering that Saorview transmitters have different locations to Freeview ones. The best aerial in the world won't work well if it's not pointing at the transmitter. Further, any aerial pointing at the Clermont Carn transmitter needs to be turned through 90 degrees, as the signals are vertically polarised:

Thanks to both. I have a digital aerial fitted, and an amplifier, but am not sure of the spec of the aerial. I have located a Maplins about 25 miles away and will get the 91 element aerial when next in that area. Thank you both again.
